Summer in Castle Rock isn’t over yet — in fact, some of the best events of the season are still to come. From a headline-grabbing county fair to a stretch of live concerts and a home show worth marking on your calendar, here’s what’s still ahead before the season winds down.

The Douglas County Fair & Rodeo

The biggest event left on the calendar is the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo, running July 24 through August 2 at the Douglas County Event Center and Fairgrounds. This year’s headliners include Trace Adkins on Friday, July 24, and AWOLNATION on Saturday, July 25, with the traditional Fair Parade kicking off in Downtown Castle Rock on the morning of July 25. Whether you’re into rodeo events, live music, fair food, or just soaking in small-town tradition, this is the kind of event that draws people in from all over the metro area — and it’s worth carving out a full day, or the whole weekend, to enjoy it.

Live Music Still to Come

Music lovers still have plenty on the horizon. Philip S. Miller Park’s Amphitheater has three big shows left: Jackson Dean with opener Tigirlily Gold on July 18, Fitz and the Tantrums on July 31 (with a Colorado Day encore show August 1), and Cheap Trick closing things out on August 15. For something more low-key, Festival Park continues its free jazz series with Jason Bower and Castle Rock Music every Wednesday evening through the rest of July and August, and the next first-Friday celebration on August 7 brings live music, a free family 5K, food trucks, and cocktails back downtown.

A Home Show Worth Noting

For anyone thinking about buying, selling, or simply investing in their current home, the free Castle Rock Summer Home Show on Friday, August 14 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and Event Center is worth a visit. It’s a great opportunity to connect with local builders, remodelers, and real estate professionals, and to get a feel for what’s happening in the local housing and home improvement market.

Plan the Rest of Your Summer

With the fair, three more concerts, weekly jazz nights, a first-Friday celebration, and a home show all still ahead, there’s no shortage of reasons to get out and enjoy Castle Rock before summer winds down. These events are also a good reminder of what makes this community special — an active calendar, strong local turnout, and a town that genuinely invests in bringing neighbors together.

If you’re considering a move to Castle Rock, or already call it home, this is a great stretch to experience the town at its best. Grab your calendar, pick a few dates, and make the most of what’s left of the season.
